“Dance first. Think later. It’s the natural order.”- Samuel Beckett
María Muñiz Colio is a Spanish dancer from Santander whose journey began at just four years old. At fourteen, she left home to pursue her dream professionally at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma in Madrid. After graduating, she danced with a junior company in Biarritz, France, before moving to Mainz, Germany, to join the Evolution Dance Platform program. She continues to dance in Mainz, where she has also earned a degree in audiovisual project production.
For María, dance is a language — a way to express emotions, explore the endless possibilities of movement, and connect with others on a deeply human level. The stage is her space for discovery and transformation, a place where she can push boundaries and find new dimensions of herself.
She joined EDGE Dance Project e.V. to embrace a creative process that values freedom, authenticity, and collaboration. What inspires her most about EDGE is its honest, supportive environment — one where artists can take risks, co-create, and share something real with their audiences.
Outside of dance, María loves films, travel, music, and spending time with friends — finding inspiration in the everyday moments that make life meaningful.
